Beckham Jnr becomes the highest paid wide receiver in NFL history with staggering £74million deal with New York Giants.

American football wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jnr, who plays for New York Giants of the National Football League, has made history by becoming the highest paid wide receiver in NFL history after signing a new $95million (£74m) contract extension.

The Giants announced on Monday that the three-time Pro Bowler has agreed to remain with the franchise for another six seasons, with $65m (£50.5m) earnings guaranteed for the 25-year-old.
'We got him until he's 108,' general manager Dave Gettleman quipped.
'I never worried whether or not we would get it done. I'm pleased, because the litmus test for a contract is that neither side is ticked off before the ink can dry, and neither side should be ticked off. It's a very fair deal.'
Beckham's $19m (£14.75m) average salary would top the $17m (£13.2m) earned by Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers. His $95m deal also tops the $82.5m (£64m) deal receiver Mike Evans has with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Beckham had said early in training camp that he was taking a risk practising without a new contract. It paid off.
After inking the new deal, Beckham said in a statement: 'Honestly, I don't even know how to explain it. I don't know if it's a relief, I don't know - it's a combination of everything. You've worked all your life to get to this point and it's finally here.'
'I knew that it would get done, it just was a matter of when and I'm just so happy that it is finally done now,' he said.
